How to take the most out of your business move?

Posted by DannyxBenson on December 23, 2016 at 7:15 AM Comments comments (0)

When one is running a business, there are quite a lot of things that they should consider and manage in order to for it to be successful. Business removals can be just as stressful and strenuous as domestic ones. This is especially true if we are talking about a small office. If your company is not some big international corporations, but rather a small family-type venture, it is more than likely that you would have to consider and manage most of the specs of the project on your own. But have no fear – there is a way to make your office relocation smooth and stress-free, and actually take the most out of it – so that your business can benefit from it too.

The key to a successful office relocation

No matter how small your project might look like at first, there is only one mistake that can potentially make it a terrible experience. That would be to decide not to hire professional movers for the job. Here are the reasons why:

• You and your employees already have enough on your plates – there is no need to add unnecessary strain with engaging them with packing, lifting and moving.

• Hiring just a van to transport your items in would be equally expensive, so there is no need for you

• A moving company would provide you with a packing service that is going to guarantee the safety of your sensitive equipment and furniture on the road. Packing is a complex job and one should not underestimate it. It is always better to leave it to the professionals to handle it.

• Moving offices is much more than tossing boxes on a transit van and driving them off to the new location. There are a lot of details to be considered, and while you are likely to forget about some of them, your movers of choice are unlikely to miss something important.

The good news is that finding flexible commercial removal solutions in London is not something that is going to cause you a lot of trouble. Removal firms in London are quite many today, and they usually work on pretty competitive prices that are not going to strain your budget even one bit in the process. A quick search online will offer you a lot of useful tips about how to make the right choice.

Preparation – an absolute must

If you are hoping for your upcoming commercial moving project to go as smoothly as possible, you should make sure to prepare properly in advance. The first thing to do is of course find the right location for your new office. It should be considered in accordance to the type of business that you have. The rent of the place should be suitable for your finances and of course – to fit the needs of your company. Once you are ready with that, there is nothing to stop you from searching for the movers that you will be hiring for the job.

The important aspect to keep in mind is that office moving usually takes up more time than your ordinary house relocation. This is because on top of everything else, you will have to warn your business partners and clients about your change of address, and fill out a lot more paperwork. In order to give yourself enough time to manage all those things, you will have start preparing three or four months in advance.

Another thing that you will have to be very careful about is to make sure that your new place is ready to receive your business and you will be in a position to continue your operation undisturbed on the very next day. This means that the phone and internet providers, as well as all other utility providers, should be warned a month to two weeks tops about you moving in. It will not be quite good to have no way to check your email at the office for a week – this will cause quite a lot of troubles. So, make the arrangements.

Building a moving plan is, more or less, the only logical thing to do. Get a calendar and fill it out with all the tasks that you have to tackle, and then stick to it. It might be a good idea to give it to your movers to look at it once you are done. An experienced eye would immediately notice if there is something missing, and you will be able to fix the problem immediately. All in all, the whole deal comes down to the simple fact that the success of your upcoming office removal lies simply in the proper preparation for the process in question.

Do you consider a home office?

With the development of communication technology and the professions that were created along them, more and more people today are abandoning the old-school conventional office environment and opt for the home office alternative. If you have a small family-run company, that idea might be appealing to you too. There are a lot of benefits to running a small home office in the spare room of your house, or even the garage. On one hand you will be saving a considerable amount of money, because you will not have to pay rent and other expenses for maintaining your workplace. On the other, having a home office allows you to schedule your time much more flexibly. There are studies that show that having a home office stimulates productivity – if the office is set up properly – thus your overall business is also going to be more successful. The big drawback of having a home office is that it works only with certain types of professions, and if your company is a really small one – or in case you are a freelancer of sorts. So, much like anything in life, it has both its pros and cons, and you should carefully consider those before you make the important step of setting one up.

The best way to get to know the many cultures of Chicago

Posted by DannyxBenson on November 23, 2016 at 5:50 AM Comments comments (0)

Chicago is the third largest city in the United States. In addition to being home to nearly three million people and the largest airport system in the world, Chicago is home to a community that can be described only as multi-cultural. There are several very well shaped international communities that are to be found across the different zip codes of Chicago at the present moment. The main among them include:

• Italian

• Jewish

• Polish

• Lithuanian

• Serbian

• Czech

Naturally, this contributes to Chicago being a very vibrant area. The landscape changes literally on every corner. If you are wondering what the most adequate way to get to know the many faces of Chicago is, well the answer is simple. It is through the food that is considered to be traditional for the different communities. Even if you feel doubts about the legitimacy of this approach, one thing you cannot argue – that it is definitely the tastiest and most pleasant way to get to know the city.

Chicago’s food – the basics

While many of the dishes that are to be found around in the restaurants in Chicago can be considered to be typical for the Midwest of the United States, there are arguably three dishes that are simply synonymous to the Windy City. Those are:

• The Chicago Styled Hot Dog. No matter whether the hot dog is steamed or boiled, what makes it Chicago style is the poppy-seed bun in which the all-beef wiener is placed. On top of it you will find mustard, chopped onions, a sliced tomato, neon-green sweet-pickle relish, sport peppers, a dill-pickle spear, and a sprinkling of celery salt. Just remember, when you are placing an order for a Chicago Styled Hot Dog is that you should never (and we mean ever) ask for ketchup. It is considered to be a form of sacrilege. Either way, most hot dog stands around the city do not offer ketchup, so even if you open your mouth you will not get it. On the other hand, you are likely to get a snort of derision due to being uncultured.

• The Chicago Styled Pizza is another local delicacy that you are going to fall in love with for sure. It is a deep-dish pizza with the other crust taller than the rest of the slice. It is characterized by the excessive amounts of cheese that are to be found on it. Another difference from the regular kind of pizza is the fact that the tomato sauce is to be found on top of the cheese, instead of top of it. Naturally, thin-crust pizza is also to be found in many places around Chicago. A version of the Chicago Styled pizza usually called stuffed pizza includes even more cheese than the regular king, with a thin crust on top – thus the stuffing. If you are looking for a real calorie-bomb, that is definitely the right answer for you.

• Now, as you can guess Italian food is pretty popular with people from around Chicago. After all, a considerable part of the immigrant community of the city comprises namely from Italians. So there is little wonder in the fact that one of the most famous and iconic pieces of food that Chicago is famous for is the Italian beef. Very thin slices of seasoned roast beef is placed in an Italian-style roll, with lots of dripping meat juices. The roll itself is often dipped in the juices in which the meat was cooked, and there is an option to make the sandwich an “Italian cheese” – by adding mozzarella or provolone.

Some other meals to die for

Even though the hot-dog, the pizza and the Italian sandwich are the definitive foods of Chicago, there are also many other meals that are considered to be traditional of the area and reflect on the multi-cultural background of the city:

• Chicken-Vesuvio is an example of the so called fusion-kitchen. There are Italian as well as traditional American elements in the recipe, which consists of chicken on the one along with wedged potatoes, celery, carrots and other vegetables.

• Maxwell Street Polish is a Polish beef and pork sausage grilled along with onions. Its name comes from the eponymous Maxwell Street where it was first prepared. Maxwell Street is the centre of one of the most prominent Polish communities in the city.

• The jibarito is representative of the prominent Puerto Rican community of the Chicago, which is especially well centered around the Humboldt Park neighborhood. The dish consists of chicken or other meat, along with condiments, placed between two pieces of fried and flattened plantain instead of bread.

• There is a very big community of Greeks living in and around Chicago too, and where Greeks go, there are gyros. Actually, a curious fact is that gyros were so popular in the city at a certain point that Chicago became the first city in the United States where there were to become mass-produced. That’s some accomplishment, isn’t it? Saganaki, a fried cheese appetizer, is another really popular item from the Greek cuisine that can be ordered in many restaurants and diners around Chicago.

• The hot dog bum is often filled, in addition to wieners, with tamale. In this variant the sandwich is called a mother-in-law.

Where to go to eat in Chicago

Many good restaurants can be found across the territory of Chicago. Where you go depends on what type of food you are in the mood for. Chinatown is on the South Side, Greektown on Halsted Street, and Little Italy on Taylor Street and the Heart of Italy. Indian and Pakistani restaurants are to be found along Devon Avenue, while there are several very good Vietnamese restaurants in the Argyle Street district in Uptown. Harold's Chicken Shack is Chicago’s in-house fried chicken chain. If you are in the city come July, drop by Grant Park in the downtown for the annual Taste of Chicago festival, where you could learn all about the cuisine of this great city of ours.

The history of Canary Wharf ?? the second commercial heart of London

Posted by DannyxBenson on November 7, 2016 at 8:40 AM Comments comments (0)

As the capital city of the United Kingdom, and for a number of other reasons, London is one of the leading financial centres in the world. It is actually often described as the “command centre” for global economy.

At the current moment, London accounts for as much as 22 percent of the whole annual turnover of British economy. It has been estimated that the economy of London is as big as those of whole countries such as Sweden and Iran, and even bigger than others. There are nearly a million private businesses that are registered in London at the present moment. Traditionally, it is believed that the City – the cultural and historical heart of London – is the place where the most intense commercial activities are taking place in. Even though it is true, in the past couple of decades another district – the one of Canary Wharf in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets – is gaining much strength. Let’s have a look at the reasons for that.

The origins of Canary Wharf

Canary Wharf first came to prominence when the West India Docks on the Isle of Dog were built in the vicinity of the present day district. Canary Wharf used to be the busiest dock in the world in the period between 1802 and 1939, a place where people and goods from the most isolated places on the planet would come. The problem was that when the colonial trade system collapsed in the middle of the 20th century, Canary Wharf was no longer in a position to maintain its former status and glory. By 1980, the last docks here were closed. The area was already falling into demise, and it was clear that things are going to get only worse from there on, unless something was done about the situation. The British Government created the so called London Docklands Development Corporation in 1981. The purpose of this organization was to come up with ideas about how to develop and maintain the place, so that it has a future.

The new face of Canary Wharf

The district became the important financial and commercial centre that it currently is quite quickly. This happened thanks to the initiative demonstrated by one Michael von Clemm. Von Clemm used to be a CEO of Credit Suisse First Boston. He came up with what was to prove to be a brilliant idea – to turn the former West India Docks into a back office territory. Further discussions and planning ensued, of course, and this is when more and more investors became convinced that it is actually a viable idea that is worth pursuing. The Canadian company Olympia & York bought the rights to the project and the first construction works began in 1988. Several buildings, designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill with Yorke Rosenberg Mardall as their UK advisors, and subsequently by Koetter Kim, were built, the first one among them completed in 1991. One of those first developments in Canary Wharf was actually the iconic One Canada Square, which at the time of its erection was the tallest building in London, and one of the tallest in Europe.

A treat to the City of London

At first the reactions towards the new development at Canary Wharf was met with much distrust and even fear from the colleagues in the City. The main concern was that the City of London was going to lose its importance of a financial centre, which was not a thing the corporations operating there were willing to let happen. In short – the town was not big enough for both the City and Canary Wharf. This led to several actions that in retrospect prove to be ineffective. Planning laws were modified as to allow more office buildings to be constructed in the City of London. Those modifications included building permits for terrains above railway stations, such as in Blackfriars, and roads too – the case of Alban Gate. Some specialists contribute the initial failure of the One Canada Project namely to this oversupply of offices in the City.

Subsequent development

It was in 1995 when the Canary Wharf Group, then called Canary Wharf Limited, was created. They were responsible for the future development of the place. At the same time the property market in general began stabilizing, while at the same time more and more big scale companies started looking for A grade office space in the capital. The Jubilee Line expansion, which connected Canary Wharf to Central London is also considered a contributing factor in pushing forward the development of Canary Wharf. More and more buildings were constructed in the area, and nearly all of them were almost immediately sold out. Some of the them for really astonishing prices. For example, at the peak of the market, the HSBC building was sold for the astounding 1.1 billion GBP in 2007. More and more companies began relocating to Canary Wharf, and skillful commercial removal contractors in London began operating in the area as well. It is important to point out that the business in the City did not suffer at all from this expansion – actually, London is now more and more active on the global markets, and there is enough business for everyone.

The tallest buildings in Canary Wharf

Some of the most ambitious construction projects that were commenced in Canary Wharf led to the creation of many tall buildings, home to multi-billion-pound corporations. Among the most iconic structures in the district at the present moment include:

1) One Canada Square

2) 8 Canada Square

3) 25 Canada Square

4) One Churchill Place

5) 40 Bank Street

6) 10 Upper Bank Street

7) 25 Churchill Place

8) 1 West India Quay

9) 33 Canada Square

10) 1 Cabot Square

As you can see, all the tallest buildings in Canary Wharf are referred to with their respective addresses, which is actually a rather regular practice in London. In addition to commercial space, there are plans for the construction of residential developments in Canary Wharf as well. Housing for some 10 000 people is currently created here.

How to pack like a pro and avoid common packing mistakes

Posted by DannyxBenson on October 25, 2016 at 6:05 AM Comments comments (0)

Moving house from one place to another is a huge project and it involves a number of moving tasks waiting to be completed. One of the most important and time-consuming tasks is packing. Packing entire house requires a lot of effort and it is no wonder why people make packing mistakes during removal. In order to help you have a stress-free and mistake-free packing, here are some tips on how to pack when relocating. Also, we provide solutions to prevent packing mistakes from happening.

Create a list of packing tasks

Before you start packing, you need to know where to start and what tasks to complete first. Therefore, it is recommended that you create a list of packing tasks and develop a strategy. Packing on random will result in chaos where you will just waste time and get yourself a headache. So, it would be great if you plan your day and know exactly what to pack on Monday, Tuesday, etc. Stick to your list and your packing calendar.

• Additional tip

Start with packing items you do not use that often and larger items like furniture and other.

Start packing immediately

When it comes to packing, people usually postpone it thinking they have enough time. This is a huge mistake. Start packing as soon as you find out the moving date. This is because you will not have only packing on your moving tasks list. It is important that you start with this task, and you can at least pack the items you do not use that often.

• Additional tip

It is recommended that you pack few boxes each day. This way your packing task will be done without too much hassle.

Sort out your belongings before packing

Why is this step so important? Well, sorting out means avoiding packing and transporting items you no longer need or will not use. This means that it will cost you more if you do not sort them out first. How come? Well, the total weight of your items dictates your moving cost. The more items you have, the more money you will pay for their transportation. Not only you will waste your money by not sorting belongings out, but you will also waste your precious time.

• Additional tip

Put aside items that are broken, out-dated or not needed anymore and donate them, sell them or toss them into a trash bin.

Label all boxes

Another useful packing hack is labelling all your boxes.

This will save you a lot of time when unpacking your belongings or searching for a certain item. Some people think they do not need labels because they will remember where certain items are and in which boxes. Even if you the most organized person in the world, boxes that look the same will confuse you. Take your marker and write down the content and destination room. It is a simple task but extremely useful.

Ask for help

Depending on time you have and the number of items needed to be packed, packing can go from being a simple task to being an impossible task to complete on time. Sometimes people think they have enough time to pack so they do not ask for help. But they usually underestimate the time and realise that they desperately need packing help.

 Friends

You can ask your friends to give you a hand if they have time. This approach will save you time and you will not need to hire professional movers for this task.

 Professional packers

You can also hire a licensed relocations in London that offers packing services. This option is more expensive in comparison to prior one. This depends on your moving budget.

Obtain enough packing material

One of the most frustrating things that can happen to you in the heat of packing process is realising that you do not have enough packing supplies. Normally, it is impossible to obtain the exact amount of packing supplies but it is better to acquire more than you will need than to end up with lacking some. You can get cardboard boxes, bubble wrap, plastic containers and other packing supplies from your local moving company. You can rent or buy them.

• Additional tip

Get some for free by asking staff in your local store for some free boxes. They throw them away anyway.

Do not pack hazardous and other forbidden items

No removal company will agree to transport hazardous items, plants, pets, food and other similar items. It is the law doesn’t allow it. Hazardous items are substances and goods that are flammable or explosive. Dispose of them properly or give them away to your friends buy new ones when you arrive to your new address.

 What about pets and plant?

You are responsible for transporting these to your new place. As far as pets are concerned, consult your veterinarian and obtain all necessary information, documentation and shots (if you are moving abroad). Plants do not require special care, just enough space in the moving vehicle.

Pack an emergency box

An emergency box is very important because it gives you an easy access to the basic items you will need during the first days in your new home. It will also be handy in the car during your trip to the new address. It is impossible to unpack everything on the first day after removal so this box is a true life saver. Some of the items you should pack in it include food, drinks, clothes, medication, first aid kit, hygiene products, flash, some hand tools and other.

Safety comes first

When packing, your goal is to ensure that all your items are safe, right? Well, this is why you need to focus on proper packing because they need to arrive at your new address in the same condition they were before moving. In order to avoid property damage or personal injuries, you need to pack like a pro. Use large boxes to pack lighter goods and small boxes to pack heavier goods. This is how professional packers handle box size rule.

• Additional tip

Always take time to reinforce the bottom of all moving boxes with a duct tape.

In conclusion

Packing requires a lot of care. And it also requires a lot of preparations. Do not make common mistakes. Follow above mentioned tips and pack like a pro.

Richmond Park - beauty in the heart of London

Posted by DannyxBenson on October 20, 2016 at 6:15 AM Comments comments (0)

London is a huge place and it is becoming bigger every year because tens of thousands of people relocated to the different parts of the capital constantly. One thing that London is really notable about is that it is actually the greenest city of its scale in Europe and the world as a whole. Even the most conservative estimates show that a quarter of the total territory of London is actually covered by open green spaces of some kind:

• Public parks

• Commons

• Forests

• Gardens

• Garden squares

This is pretty impressive, bearing in mind the fact that actually London covers well over 1500 square kilometers as of today, right?

There are hundreds of public parks in London, but there are some that stand out among the rest. Little doubt can be put on the claim that actually one of the best of those open green spaces is the magnificent Richmond Park.

Richmond Park – an overall characteristic

Located in the Royal Borough of Richmond upon Thames in South London, Richmond Park itself enjoys a royal status. Actually, it is the largest royal park in London at the present moment. It was created in the 17th century by no other but King Charles I, as a deer hunting ground. The fact that it is actually one of the greatest parks in the country as of the present moment is backed up by its numerous special designations - a national nature reserve, a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a Special Area of Conservation and is included, at Grade I, on Historic England's Register of Historic Parks and Gardens of special historic interest in England. Richmond Park’s landscapes have been an inspiration for countless artists and painters over the centuries and continues to be such today too. Richmond Park, originally a domain of the monarch, is now open to public and has played great importance in some of the most vital events in the history of London, such as the Battle for Britain during World War II, as well as two Olympic Games – those in 1948 and those in 2012.

Some key stats

Currently Richmond Park covers 3.69 square miles, which makes it the second largest public park in London after Lee Valley Park and the second largest walled urban park in the country after Sutton Park in Birmingham. It is actually three times larger than Central Park in New York City. The area is surrounded by some of the finest districts in the capital today. Starting from the northern boundary and moving clockwise those are as follows: East Sheen and Mortlake, Roehampton, Wimbledon Common, Coombe and Kinston Vale, Kingston upon Thames, Petersham and Ham, and Richmond.

Sports and recreations in Richmond Park

One of the main purposes of any open green space is to provide its visitors with opportunities for sports and recreational activities. In this respect, Richmond Park is very well developed. Here you will have the chance to participate in various sports activities such as:

• Cycling – either on your own bike, or a rented one that you can get from the Roehampton Gate hub. We recommend using the hundred percent car-free The Tamsin Trail, which is shared by cyclists and pedestrians alike.

• Fishing. This sport is allowed on Pen Ponds from mid-June to mid-March. All you need to get is your gear and a pre-paid permit from the park management.

• Richmond Park Golf Course facilitates one of the best golf courses in these parts of the capital.

• Horse Riding often takes place within the park. This is made easy thanks to the several stables that actually exist within the perimeter of Richmond Park.

• Rugby is something like a national sport and you will hardly find a public park in England where it is not being practiced. Richmond Park has its own section that is used for rugby, most notably by the Rosslyn Park Rugby Football Club.

• The aforementioned Tamsin Trail is 7.2 miles long and in addition to cycling it is widely used for running too.

Naturally, there are many children playgrounds scattered across the territory of Richmond Park too. So, if you visit the park with your little ones they will have a lot to do too.

Some notable features of Richmond Park

Richmond Park is large and very well developed. But it would have been hailed as one of the best parks in the capital of England today if it was not for its many notable features. Those include:

1) The Six original Park Gates, which were built after the park was enclosed in 1637. Those are Coombe Gate, Ham Gate, Richmond Gate, Robin Hood Gate, Roehampton Gate and Sheen Gate respectively. Richmond Gate is the most widely used and has been throughout the whole park’s history. There are of course other gates that have been added in later periods, but from a historical and architectural point of view, the six originals are actually the most fascinating.

2) The Buildings in Richmond Park that deserve wider attention include the Grade I listed White Lodge, as well as ten other Grade II listed buildings - Ham Gate Lodge, built in 1742; Holly Lodge (formerly known as Bog Lodge) and the game larder in its courtyard, built in 1735;Pembroke Lodge; Richmond Gate and Richmond Gate Lodge, dated 1798 and designed by Sir John Soane; Thatched House Lodge; and White Ash Lodge and its barns and stables, built in the 1730s or 1740s.

3) The protected view of St Paul’s Cathedral that is opened from King Henry’s mound. Another favourite of local visitors is the view of Central London from Sawyer’s Hill. From there you can see the London Eye, Natwest Tower and "The Gherkin", which all appear to be much closer to one another than they are in reality.

Richmond Park is also known to be home to as many 630 red and fallow deer, which is more than any other place in London. The animals are favourite objects of photographers who come to Richmond Park.

6 most challenging tasks during removal

Posted by DannyxBenson on October 17, 2016 at 6:00 AM Comments comments (0)

Moving is one of the most stressful events in a person's life. We all know that it is a costly event that requires a lot of hard work and planning. For starters, you will spend a lot of money on your moving expenses and you will feel like there is no enough time to do it all. Plus, you need to plan everything so that you do not spend more than you have and that you do everything on time. Not to mention you will be emotionally exhausted, and you will feel all those feelings at the same time; you will feel sad, excited, afraid, nostalgic, etc. The key here is to prepare well and create a moving strategy to complete each moving task accordingly and timely, so that you experience a stress-free removal.

Some of the most stressful and difficult moving tasks are listed below.

1. Informing friends and family of your removal

Whether you are moving for job or other reasons, moving to another place might come as a shock to people who love you. Telling your parents and your closest friends about your removal is a must, but you need to be patient and positive because they are never prepared for such news. If you have children, this announcement might cause tension or conflicts in your home. They are used to their present life and their schedules so it can be hard for them to accept that they have to leave their friends, school, and other and move. Informing people about your removal sounds as an easy and simple task but it really isn't. It is the first step and the beginning of the chaos.

2. Finding a new place

Once you tell your loved ones about your removal, next step is planning and finding the right house or apartment. Finding the perfect home is challenging and time-consuming task. The best thing would be to visit your new city so you can get an idea of your future place. Here, location is the most important factor to focus on. Your home should be located near your workplace, children’s school, hospitals, parks, etc. Your new location should fit your lifestyle so make sure you know where to look. Also, finding a safe and convenient neighbourhood is one of things to think about. You want to live in a safe and friendly community, especially if you have kids.

If you are not able to visit and choose your place before removal, you should opt for temporary housing. This is a great way to get to know the city and explore it before getting a permanent housing. However, you will need to move again. But, it pays off eventually.

3. Finding a moving company

This step is one of the most important when relocating. Sure, you can decide to move on your own, but it is recommended that you hire professionals to move your belongings, especially if you are moving long-distance. You will have so many choices but finding the right one can be tricky and stressful. You need to focus on the following:

• do a thorough research. Read moving reviews, testimonials, compare prices, get quotes, ask questions, check with BBB, discuss extra services and fees, etc. eventually, you will choose the one that best suits your requirements.

• avoid rogue movers. The worst thing that could happen to you during removal is to fall victim to moving scams. You need to be very careful because you are giving everything you own into the hands of your movers. The signs of a scam company are:

 no USDOT number

 no recommendations

 rates are too cheap

 no website

 insufficient contact information

 complaints against the company, etc.

4. Making arrangements with a moving company

Once you choose a moving company, you need to go through details of removal. Arrange pick-up and delivery dates, choose services, ask for possible discounts, discuss about the deposit, insurance, etc. Before you sign any document, make sure you understand every word and that the rate is fixed, without any additional charges.

Finding reliable and reputable movers requires a lot of time and research, whether you are moving down the street or to another country, or changing apartments. Trusting someone everything you own is a big deal so make sure you do your homework and find experienced professionals. Speedy domestic removals is a reputable moving company that will provide you an excellent service at an affordable rate.

5. Decluttering your home

Organizing your goods and decluttering your place is a difficult task but it is something that has to be done. Decide what goes with you and what goes into a trash bin, or what can be sold. Remember, the fewer things you move, the less money you will pay. Also, if you organize everything nicely, it will be easier for you to unpack later. You should sort things out. First, create a moving checklist and write down the number, type, and location of the items you are relocating. Label boxes so that you know where specifics items can be found. Second, get rid of things that are out-dated, worn, damaged and not needed anymore. Donate them to charity or sell some online. Throw away items that cannot be reused or repaired.

6. Saying goodbye

Leaving your friends and your neighbourhood is always heart-breaking. You need to say goodbye in a proper way. You can throw a party and invite your family, friends and neighbours. You can prepare small gifts so that they think about you when you’re gone. Don’t forget to make plans to meet again. Thanks to the technology, you can text and call your friends every day. Saying goodbye to your old home is tough since you have so many memories there. But, cheer up because you will create new ones in your new home.

Moving can be a stressful experience. There is a lot of work needed to be taken care of and there is no room for mistakes. However, if you plan and organize properly and arm yourself with all the information relevant to your removal, there is a chance that you can actually enjoy your moving experience.

Communication is crucial

Posted by DannyxBenson on October 14, 2016 at 4:55 AM Comments comments (0)

People love talking to each other. It has been like that since ancient times. Being able to communicate is a key feature to all complex organisms. Ever since our brain evolved a little bit we’ve tried to express ourselves. People used to grunt and draw on walls with sticks in the beginning. Later they started producing some form of speech but of course it was not enough as mankind also needed a way to write things down. This desire led to people coming up with all sorts of written languages which nowadays look completely irrational and quite simply ugly. We used to do to mimics, drawings, made sounds and what not just in order to communicate. The ground we have covered so far in order to reach our current state is simply impressive. We can use many ways to communicate now:

• By phone

• By video connection

• Over the Internet

• Via satellite

So today we not only talk fluently and easily but we have come up with so many words and definitions of these words. Our vocabulary is by far at its best. We have so many objects in our lives and they all require names. Technological progress, you can say, boosts our language progress. We also come up with new synonyms and verbs. There is a huge wealth of words and letters in all languages around the world.

So it looks like we’ve achieved it all, right? Where is the room for improvement? It is right in front of us. We now have our full focus on the way we transmit information in order to improve the rate at which we can communicate. While the way we talk and react to information has been evolving for thousands of years, the means of transmitting this communication have significantly improved only over the last few decades. We are now at a point where it is simply amazing to think about what we have. We use waves and something called the Internet to constantly stay in touch with each other. Similar to how well we transport things nowadays the way we converse has significantly changed as well.

Isn’t it simply mind-boggling that you have little device in your pocket which can buzz at any moment to let you know that someone wants to talk to you. Everyone has a little box connected to nothing physically allowing us to hear each other’s voices immediately. And it doesn’t take long. You immediately hear the person on the other side in their real voice. There is no wire, there is no electricity involved. Our signal is now transmitted by air thanks to satellites and ground stations. We have information in the air that we breathe! This is a remarkable achievement and 90% of the population of the Earth has no idea how it works. Even wired signal is pretty impressive all by itself. How does your voice go into a microphone and then travels some distance transmitted by a copper wire? Of course the explanation nowadays looks simple and everyone knows it but this does not make it any less miraculous.

People are greedy. This is what it all comes down to. Like in many areas of life where we strived to achieve progress, communication is also a result of our greed. What is the connection? Well, we want to make money as quickly as possible and with as few efforts as we can. This is why we need to constantly communicate any sort of news regarding our personal life, business relations etc. Quick communication or should we say instant communication saves time thus allowing us to make money thanks to the time saved. On the other hand many companies realise we have this need as a society and come up with ways to improve the way we talk and exchange information thus making money from us. Take the largest brands in this sector – Apple, Samsung, LG. They are devoted to making the next best cell phone. The more we need to converse, the more companies will try to come up with ways to make us spend money for such services.

Breaking news are now really “breaking”. Everyone is allowed to be a reporter nowadays. You can broadcast for free online and on social media. The hottest spots in the world can now be seen live. When a conflict breaks out we learn about it in the matter of minutes. News broadcasters love the fact that they can be the 1st to report on an event just by going online. It is not very easy to lie and manipulate facts too. This is because the user can simply get in touch with someone living on the other side of the world and check what really is happening. Nobody can hide as sources are now numerous and easy to access. Centuries and even only decades ago news took a lot of time to travel. Besides, there used to be a limited number of sources and people could not really verify the facts which they were given. Fortunately we no longer have these problems and are completely free to express ourselves.

The best part is that anyone can become a celebrity today just because of the levels of accessibility that we have. There are plenty of examples about independent vloggers and bloggers sharing information from their own living room. A person with certain qualities can become a public figure just by posting stuff online. You can express your views in videos recorded with your phone and you can gain followers. It doesn’t cost anything and might just put you on the radar of producers and companies which in turn just might hire you as a TV personality or a writer. Here is a chart about how audience perceives the information that we share:

Talking is important. We have plenty of things to say but the way we do it really matters. Speed matters and we will continue to improve this aspect of our communication. An email arrives almost instantly after it was sent but it is still not good enough for us, is it?
